This picture is over 10 years old ! I don't look this good, now.

In case you just stumbled onto this site. I was born and raised in a refinery town in the panhandle of Texas. Phillips was owned and operated by Phillips Petroleum Company and everybody's Daddy worked at "the plant". So, officially, that makes me "West Texas Oil Field trash" not just your ordinary "kicker". We had a good school and an excellent music program which paid off later. I actually got a small music scholorship, at least enough to cover the tuition, so that it didn't cost me anything to march my butt off in the "Big Purple".

Phillips doesn't exist, any more. All the houses were moved out in the 80's and the only thing left is the refinery and the school, which is now offices for the refinery. It's kind of strange being from a place that has died, like that.

I was born in Amarillo, but never lived there. I did live in Abilene, Austin, Fort Worth, and a brief stint in Houston.

At least I got out of Phillips, when I attended Abilene Christian College (now Abilene Christian University). As if that isn't an experience in itself, I got into computers trying to make spending money, which provided the extra money to allow me to get into flying. Then, there was the impact of the people I met there, especially, my roommates, Wayne and Erwin Hackett, Doug Hunter, and Rod Paine. My life was never the same, THANKFULLY. Wayne introduced me to Emmett and Richard, who introduced me to Ida Rolf, Bella Karish, Laura Huxley (Aldous Huxley's wife) and a host of wonderful personalities.

Here is a picture of my friends Richard, Emmett, and Wayne, who are mostly responsible for our three year investigation of Kauai, thanks to a month of "housesitting" for them in 2007.

I still make my living, primarily, in the computer business. I have been self employed since 2009 and mostly sub-contracting for Migration Specialties International, a company owned by a former colleague at Digital Equipment Corporation, Bruce Claremont. This company provides solutions to allow people to continue using software developed for computers that are no longer in production. Bruce calls himself a "software preservationist". Check him out at MigrationSpecialties.com.

For the previous twelve years, I focused on helping companies design processes to enable the implementation of IT Service Management, as defined by the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and managing the implementation of supporting products like HP Service Desk, Service Center, Service Manager, AlarmPoint, and the Westbury reporting tools. I worked for Hewlett-Packard's software (OpenView) support division, after they purchased the Amsterdam-based PROLIN Automation B.V., creators of the Service Desk product, doing sales support and training HP solution architects. During my final years at HP, I managed a global implementation of the Service Desk product which provided case tracking for support of all OpenView products, world wide. I coordinated a team that ranged from China, Bangalore, Amsterdam, and all of the US time zones. I have also worked for Digital Equipment, as a migration consultant, when I got back from my three years in Saudi Arabia. That story would really take some space, but involved the establishment of a logistics application to support the Royal Saudi Air Force and the creation of interconnected data centers at all of their bases. The object was to keep all aircraft operational and mission capable. It was a fascinating experience and an opportunity to work with people from all parts of the world and to see and experience places that I'd never seen or in some cases, never even heard of.

I hope to continue to leverage my vast collection of experience and remain involved in the delivery of new technology solutions for many years.

I have lived in Colorado, more than any other place, since leaving Texas. I've lived in Denver, Evergreen, Boulder, and Colorado Springs before the move to Loveland in March 2000. We spent three years investigating the beautiful island of Kauai where Debra was involved in a pilot program for senior fitness sponsored by the Kauai Agency on Elderly Affairs. It was completely awesome and for the last year we were able to rent
a fantastic house in Wailua Homesteads, on the rim of the Wailua river, the only navigable river in the state of Hawaii. Debra also worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer at the Marriott Resort and the Kauai Athletic Club. See some pictures on the third page of this site.

Here is a picture from my Saudi Arabia photo album. That's "Big Bill" Eidsmoe riding shotgun with Stu "Spot" Davison behind him and Gordon Pearson is behind me. This can only mean one thing, a Short Term Memory rehearsal. I miss that band. You had to do what you could to provide your own entertainment, in Saudi. I don't plan any more trips to the Middle East, it's just a little too "hot", and I'm talking about much more than the weather.

So, now, I have a GREAT life, with a great wife, living in colorful Colorado.

WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT ?

Oh, how about enough money to RETIRE !

I'm WORKING on it!

As time permits, I'll continue developing this site so "STAY TUNED"

Don't forget to check out the other two pages.

PEACE
