Well, I still like this photo of the lions, but it is time to update my 'peeve list'.

1. New to the number one spot is lack of gun control. We are a country populated with LOTs of idiots and morons who shold not be able to buy weapons, especially assault weapons. NOBODY needs an AK-47 or any other gun that isn't suitable for hunting anything other than people. My first gun was a single shot rifle which promoted an interest in accuracy that you just can't care about, with an automatic weapon. I'm afraid this is one of those times where the freedom to buy as much fire power as you can afford is not worth the increased risk that is created to the point that eventually, you just have to be lucky, because you can never really be prepared.

2. Perpetrators of children's myths:

Santa Claus
Tooth Fairy
Easter Bunny

3. People who think they can drive and talk on a cellular telephone at the same time, BUT CAN'T. (They probably don't drive well without the phone, either)
TEXTING IS WORSE !

4. All those people with no kids of their own, but plenty of advice about how to raise yours.

5. Liars / manipulators  (politicians)

6. Taking off my shoes at the airport (all thanks to an idiot that didn't succeed. I hope the latest failure, Christmas 2009, doesn't have us taking off our underware !)

This is our home, in beautiful Loveland, Colorado. Who wouldn't want to live in "love land"? They have a great tradition of placing a special stamped image on Valentines mailed from the Loveland post offices. Each year, thousands of cards are sent from all over the world to be stamped and mailed from Loveland.

Pardon me, as I rant for a moment

I saw a TV show where they displayed peoples name and occupation and one person's occupation was "blogger". In this case I think it meant "unemployed" or "drop out". When did "blogger" become an occupation. I thought it was a characteristic like "smoker" or "vegetarian".  I know there are all kinds of blogs, and some of the professional journalists should get paid, I guess, but I mostly wonder why anyone would think their observation or opinion matters to anyone else.  For the most part, it reminds me of CB radio . . . "kick it back, good buddy!"

I really LOVE to fly. I can't think of a better way to travel or to see what is around you. It's too bad that the cost of doing this has gotten so crazy.  When I first saw an A36 Beechcraft Bonanza, in 1972, when I first got my license, it cost just a little over $50,000.  These days, the Raytheon version of this design, with considerable improvements, including a "glass panel", is closing in on a million dollars.

In my opinion, if you want a long, healthy, and happy life, you need a good partner. Debra is a GREAT partner.

This is me at the controls of a Piper Turbo Arrow. Can you tell that the fun meter is pegged?

This "stupid" faux pear tree paid a heavy price for being the last tree to drop it's leaves. This October 26, 2011 storm caused lots of damage like this. It took some chain saw work and two trips to the dump site to remove all of our broken braches.
